Seven Grain Vadai


Toor Dhal - 1 cup
Chana Dhal - 1 cup
Lentil - Half cup
Wheat grain - Quarter cup
Urad Dhal - Quarter cup
Rice - Quarter cup
Moong Dhal - Quarter cup

Additional ingredients:
Green Chili - 4
Dried red chili - 4
A piece of ginger
Fennel - 2 Tablespoons
Onion - 1 (Chopped)
Asafoetida and coriander (cilantro) to taste.
Oil for frying


Soak all the grains in water for 2 hours. Drain the water and coarsely
grind the mixture with green and red chilies and ginger. Add the
fennel, coriander leaves, asafoetida, onion and make into vadai
patties. Fry in oil over a medium flame until cooked, turning over
gently, as needed.

Serving suggestions:
Serve hot with tomato chutney.
