Sundal (Usli)

1. Dark Brown Chickpeas( or regular chickpeas) -- 1 cup
2. Green Mango (Peeled and finely chopped) -- 1/2 cup (optional)
3. Green chilli -- 2 or less (finely chopped)
4. Grated Coconut -- 2 tbsps. (Preferably fresh coconut)
5. Lemon juice -- 2 tbsps.
6. Salt to taste
7. Oil -- 1 tbsp.
8. Mustard seeds, urad daal -- 1 tsp
9. Red chilli -- 1 (Halved)
10. Hing -- 1/2 tsp. (optional)

1. Soak the chick peas for 7-8 hours. Cook in a cooker. Drain.

2. Heat the oil and add mustard seeds, when the seeds begin to crackle add the urad daal, halved red chilli and hing. Now, turn off the heat and add chickpeas, mango, green chilli, coconut and salt. Mix well and add the lemon juice.

Note: You can also make this with boiled peanuts. You can also add chopped cilantro, if desired.
