This is just a regular daal which is simple to make.

Ingredients: ( To serve-- 4)

1. Toor Daal -- 1 cup
2. Chopped spinach -- 1 cup
3. Onion -- 1/2 (finely chopped)
4. Green Chilli -- 2 (chopped)
5. Oil -- 2 tbsp


1. Cook the toor daal in a cooker or directly in a pot until it is soft(or cooked).

2.Heat the oil in a pan and add jeera to it. Add the green chilli and onions. Fry for a couple of minutes and then add the spinach. Fry for a minute.

3. Now add the daal and some water, if necessary. It should be of pouring consistency.

4. Add a tsp. of lemon juice, if desired. Serve with chapathi and any other sabji.

Note: You can add moong daal instead of toor daal, if desired.
